In the world of wine, few styles capture the joy of relaxed sipping quite like Rosé.
With its gorgeous pink hue, crisp flavours, and refreshing finish, Rosé has gone from a seasonal indulgence to a year-round favourite for wine lovers around the world.
But what exactly is Rosé, how is it made, and what makes our 2024 Greenskin Rosé so special?
Rosé is a type of wine known for its pale pink to vibrant salmon colour, but its beauty goes far beyond appearance.
It’s a wonderfully versatile style that captures some of the freshness of a white wine while offering hints of red fruit character – think strawberries, watermelon, or blood orange.
Despite the common misconception, Rosé is not simply a blend of red and white wine (though in rare cases it can be – more on that in a moment). The real magic of Rosé lies in how it’s made.
There are a few methods winemakers use to create Rosé, but the most common (and often highest quality) is called the direct press or limited skin contact method.
Here’s how it works:
.
This process gives Rosé its signature pink hue and delicate balance of fruit and acidity. The longer the juice sits with the skins, the darker and more full-bodied the wine becomes.
Some producers use a method called saignée, where juice is “bled off” from a red wine fermentation to make Rosé, while others may blend a small amount of red wine into a white base (though this is largely frowned upon in traditional wine regions and rarely used in premium production).
Our Rosé is made using red grapes, but in a white wine style. That means the grapes are gently pressed, and the juice is fermented without extended contact with the skins.
The result? A beautifully crisp and bright Rosé that leans more elegant than heavy, with refined aromatics and a clean, dry finish.
Our 2024 Rosé is crafted from a stunning parcel of Margaret River Grenache, sourced from a carefully managed vineyard known for its low yields and concentrated fruit. This wine is made by the talented Remy Guise of Domaine Naturaliste, whose attention to detail and minimalist approach lets the fruit — and the land — shine through.
Expect lifted notes of wild strawberry, cherry blossom, and a whisper of citrus. It’s dry, refreshing, and made to be shared — preferably outdoors with something fresh off the grill.
One of the best things about Rosé is how incredibly food-friendly it is. It pairs like a dream with:
Basically, if it’s light, zesty, or fresh… Rosé is as great choice!
Each vintage of our Rosé is a little different, depending on what the season gives us – and 2024 has brought something truly special.
This vintage is zippy, dry, and full of pure Grenache character, packaged in our signature lightweight, fully recyclable pouch. That means less weight, less waste, and more wine where it matters.
Whether you’re packing the esky for a weekend away or sipping on the deck at sunset, Greenskin Rosé 2024 delivers everything you love.
Here’s cheers to sipping pretty!
