MIKE’S WINE NOTES:
Mike Davies – Co-founder Greenskin Wine, winemaker and wine packaging specialist.
Originally, we hadn’t planned on introducing a fortified wine into our lineup. However, given our popularity among outdoor enthusiasts, it became clear that we needed a wine that is perfectly suited for those after-dinner yarns around the campfire, on the beach, or on a boat.
Enter John Griffiths from Faber Vineyard in the Swan Valley of Western Australia. I’ve known John since we were young winemaking students at Roseworthy Agricultural College back in 1982, embarking on our wine industry careers. With an impressive resume, including stints at some of Australia’s largest wineries before branching out to establish his own Winery and Vineyard in the Swan Valley nearly 25 years ago, John was the perfect collaborator.
Not only is he known for crafting exceptional trophy-winning Shiraz and Verdelho wines, but he also has a very deft touch when it comes to making small batches of fortified joy.
John worked his magic and created this absolute gem of a fortified wine. It is a melange of different varieties, but there is a clear influence from the Muscat grape. It is so LUSCIOUS – we’ve affectionately called it Liquid Gold!
Because this wine does not entirely lend itself to being purchased by the 6 pack, we’ve also introduced a 2-pack option for your convenience.
- Colour: Caramel Red.
- Bouquet: Raisins, burnt orange, caramel, rose petals and toffee.
- Palate: Rich, mouth-filling, sweet, smooth and beautifully balanced with tight acid and oak integration.
.
This is one wine you won’t want to miss out on. Nab your LIMITED EDITION Liquid Gold today and indulge in something truly special!
WINSOR’S WINE NOTES:
Winsor Dobbin is a well-known wine writer and wine critic, best known for his blogs ‘Gourmet On The Road‘ and ‘Winsor’s Choice‘.
Heading out for a winter camping adventure? Fancy a warming drink that is housed in a lightweight, recyclable pouch? Here’s the perfect thing: a new limited release from Greenskin, the West Australian company that specialises in quality drinks that are packaged to make them perfect for picnics, or lazy days at the beach.
With colder days on the way, this gained unanimous approval from my tasting group. The fruit comes from several varieties and multiple vineyards across Western Australia and the wine is made by John Griffiths from Faber Vineyard in the Swan Valley. Sweet, smoky, raisiny and very delicious, this would be brilliant with a cheese platter.
Greenskin Wine just got Greener with new Packaging!
We’re proud to prioritise environmental sustainability by making the switch to brown cardboard packaging for our Tawny Port and all new wines coming online.
Not only does it reduce the demand for virgin resources, but it also minimises chemical usage and promotes easier recyclability, helping us all sip more sustainably!

This is a great Port. I took 3 Greenskin Ports (plus a Dozen mixed Reds & Whites) across the Simpson Desert Madigan Line last week. All very popular, light, no breakages, reduced waste, great wines. The Port is awesome.

Wow, what an adventure Ian! It’s fantastic to know that our wines were enjoyed by all and contributed to an unforgettable experience. Thank you for sharing your feedback and for choosing Greenskin for your travels! Cheers, Mike and Kim
