What Makes the 2023 Pinot Noir Special?

The Lansdale Vineyard in the Great Southern region provided the ideal fruit for this wine. The cooler nights, suitable soils, and distance from the ocean are the secret ingredients behind Pinot Noir’s success in this area. Add a season of ideal rainfall and a cool, dry lead-up to harvest, and you’ve got a vintage for the ages.

Colour: Crimson with light pink edges.

Bouquet: Cherries, sherbet, forest berries, and rose petals, with hints of charcuterie.

Palate: Smooth strawberries & cream, light mushroom, and subtle truffle notes, supported by lingering oak tannins.

Pairing: It’s a wine that’s as versatile as it is delicious – perfect with grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or my favourite, roast duck!

"Medium-deep and bright red with a good tinge of purple; aromas of cherry, plum and freshly turned earth, hints of smoky oak and five spice, while the palate is medium weighted and soft textured, with drying silty tannins in harmony. It’s moderately varietal and certainly identifiable as pinot noir.

Good balance and length. A remarkable wine in such humble packaging."
