MIKE’S WINE NOTES:
Mike Davies – Co-founder Greenskin Wine, winemaker and wine packaging specialist.
From the southern end of the renowned Margaret River region, Japo Dalli Cani delivers another standout 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The 2024 vintage was the earliest on record and caught a few winemakers off-guard, but not the skilled team at McHenry Hohnen Vineyards, where precision and expertise shine through.
Japo’s signature technique adds a layer of intrigue to this wine: a brief period in a large oak cask. This subtle touch enhances the wine’s complexity and texture, creating a fuller, more satisfying palate without introducing overt woody or oaky flavours.
Crafted without the use of fining agents, this wine proudly carries the “Vegan” label – a testament to its thoughtful and natural production process.
A true lip-smacker, this Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect balance of vibrancy and sophistication.
- Colour: Pale Straw
- Nose: Lifted gooseberry, guava and pawpaw with some cheeky liminess.
- Palate: Bright and fresh gooseberry, crunchy apple, and lime are the star attractions, underlaid by the careful oak handling, which provides a slight creaminess, complexity, and depth.

This 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a VEGAN Wine. See here to find out more about what makes a wine Vegan.
Food Pairings – Our 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is a natural companion to seafood, particularly when it’s raw or delicately prepared. Think freshly shucked oysters, sashimi, or ceviche with white fish – each bite perfectly complemented by the wine’s vibrant zest.
This wine also shines alongside Eastern European and Middle Eastern dishes. Tzatziki, hummus, and grilled vegetables make excellent pairings, bringing out its subtle complexity. Just imagining a chilled glass paired with half a dozen fresh oysters is enough to spark pure, lip-smacking joy!
Greenskin Wine just got Greener with new Packaging!
We’re proud to prioritise environmental sustainability by making the switch to brown cardboard packaging for our 2023 Sauvignon Blanc and all new wines coming online.
Not only does it reduce the demand for virgin resources, but it also minimises chemical usage and promotes easier recyclability, helping us all sip more sustainably!
