Mike Davies – Wine Maker – Founder Greenskin Wine
We’re excited to present our new 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, crafted by the masterful winemaking duo Dukes & Guise from Naturaliste Vintners. This vintage, the earliest on record due to an exceptionally warm and dry lead-up period, demanded precise timing for grape picking. Thanks to their expertise, Bruce Dukes and Remi Guise have created a seamless and sophisticated blend that perfectly marries these two varietals.
In this wine, Semillon provides the structural backbone, while Sauvignon Blanc adds vibrant fruitiness and refreshing zest, infusing the blend with lively flavours and aromatic notes. The result is a classic, impeccably balanced blend that showcases the best of both grapes.
- Colour: Pale Straw with hints of green
- Nose: Lifted floral and tropical characters with some hints of blackcurrant and guava.
- Palate: Medium weight with crispy crunchy green fruit characters supported by fuller honeyed and musk notes leading to a well-rounded and complete wine
Expect a harmonious interplay of fresh citrus, tropical fruits, and a subtle minerality that makes each sip delightful!
HUON’S WINE NOTES:
Huon Hooke is a leading Australian wine writer, critic, educator and show judge, best known for his columns in Sydney Morning Herald Good Food and Good Weekend.
Very light yellow hue; intense and quite pungent on the nose with guava, pawpaw, tropical fruit aromas. Palate is clean and intense, with a flick of tannin adding grip and texture, the finish drying and firm.
88/100 points – Bronze Medal Winner.
